33 WHL Players Chosen In 2011 NHL Draft

A total of 33 Western Hockey League players realized their dream this weekend as they were taken in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

That was second-most among the CHL as the Ontario Hockey League once again led the way with 46 selections.

The WHL was highlighted by the first overall pick in Ryan Nugent-Hopkins who was chosen by Edmonton.

A total of 4 Saskatoon Blades were chosen, as you can see on the list. A total of three Saskatchewan kids were also drafted during the 7 rounds.

A large of number of highly talented kids were actually undrafted from the WHL.

Jesse Forsberg - Prince George Cougars - My 11th ranked WHLer

Andrej Stastny - Vancouver Giants - My 17th ranked WHLer

Brent Benson - Saskatoon Blades - My 20th ranked WHLer

Dylan Wruck - Edmonton Oil Kings - My 21st ranked WHLer


Others inlcude Dylan Willick, Tyler Hansen, Luke Lockhart and Liam Liston.
